Overview
Microbial cultures are collections of living microorganisms, usually bacteria, that are used to study the growth and characteristics of the microorganisms. They are used for various purposes, including diagnostics, the production of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals, fermentation for food and beverage production, and for bioremediation of environmental contamination. Microbial cultures are essential for biological research, as they enable scientists to analyze the genetic makeup and behavior of organisms. Moreover, they are an important tool for the development of new antibiotics and other medicines, and can be used to increase crop yields and improve the quality of food and beverages.
