Biography
Dr. Luigia Pazzagli is a researcher at the University of Florence, Italy, where she also completed her PhD. Her research focuses on neurotoxicology and the integrity of the blood-brain barrier, with particular emphasis on the effects of heavy metals and environmental contaminants on tight junction proteins and cerebrovascular health. Her most-cited work, "Effects of Cadmium on ZO-1 Tight Junction Integrity of the Blood Brain Barrier" (2019), has received 86 citations and represents a significant contribution to understanding metal-induced neurotoxicity mechanisms. Dr. Pazzagli has authored over 14 indexed publications in the fields of toxicology, neuroscience, and barrier physiology.
