Aims and Scope

 

Journal of Enzyme is an international open access, peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to advancing research in enzymology and enzyme technology. JEN serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange insights into the study, application, and innovation of enzymes in various scientific and industrial fields. The journal publishes a wide range of scholarly contributions, including original research, reviews, case reports, short communications, and editorials.  
 

Scope and Focus: JEN covers all aspects of enzymology, with a particular emphasis on:  

  • Enzyme Structure & Function: Mechanisms of enzyme action, structure-function relationships, and catalytic processes.  
  • Biocatalysis & Industrial Applications: Enzyme engineering, immobilization, and applications in pharmaceuticals, food, and biofuels.  
  • Molecular & Cell Biology of Enzymes: Gene expression, metabolic pathways, and enzyme regulation.  
  • Biochemistry & Biotechnology: Enzyme kinetics, protein engineering, and emerging enzyme-based technologies.  
  • Medical & Pharmaceutical Enzymology: Enzymes in disease mechanisms, diagnostics, and therapeutics.  
  • Environmental & Agricultural Enzymology: Enzymatic approaches to waste management, biodegradation, and soil health.  
  • Computational & Systems Enzymology: In silico modeling, enzyme design, and bioinformatics-driven enzyme research.  


Additionally, we encourage articles that discuss artificial intelligence(AI)-driven approaches for understanding enzyme structure-function relationships, predicting enzyme properties, and modeling enzyme kinetics.
