Aims and Scope

Journal of Experimental and Clinical Toxicology (JECT) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original quantitative and qualitative research on the toxicological effects of drugs, industrial chemicals, environmental pollutants, and other substances on non-human and human subjects. The journal focuses on both experimental studies in laboratory animals and clinical research in humans.

The scope of the journal covers topics such as toxicology testing, biomarker discovery, receptor-binding assays, tissue culture, toxicokinetics, genomics and bioinformatics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, safety testing and risk assessment, toxic accounting, and behavioral toxicity. Studies utilizing methodologies such as animal models, in vitro evaluations, human clinical trials, epidemiology, and retrospective or case-control analyses are welcome, as are reviews and hypothesis statements. JECT invites authors to submit articles across all aspects of toxicology, particularly in areas of emerging interest such as nanotoxicology, nanotechnology, and biomonitoring. This journal will provide a forum to explore the most important advances in this quickly expanding field.

JECT publishes research papers on topics related to toxicology and risk assessment along with advances in clinical and experimental aspects. The journal promotes original and rigorous research, investigation, evaluation, and interpretation of clinical and experimental toxicology. The journal looks forward to publishing significant advances in the field of toxicology which will be useful for clinicians, scientists, toxicologists, researchers, and those featured in risk analysis.

JECT is dedicated to the publication of work from the full spectrum of these topics, including analytical and toxicological chemistry, behavioral toxicology, biotoxicity, clinical toxicology, ecotoxicology, forensic toxico-legal medicine, immunotoxicology, in vitro toxicology, molecular toxicology, nanotoxicology, neurotoxicology, occupational health, ophthalmological toxicology, pathophysiology, pulmonary toxicology, reproductive toxicology, teratology, and toxicogenomics.

The journal welcomes articles on all aspects of toxicological research including, but not limited to, the toxicology of drugs, food additives, and chemicals found in the environment. The journal also publishes articles relating to research into the assessment of chemical hazards posed to human health and the environment. JECT provides a platform for researchers and experts to explore the most recent developments in the field of toxicology; including novel approaches to researching and assessing chemical hazards, the development of new solutions to existing toxicological challenges, and the clinical and laboratory applications of existing toxicology research.

Topics covered include toxicology of industrial compounds, drugs, and biological products, mechanisms and novel therapeutic strategies in toxicity, the toxicity of cosmetics, food, and dietary supplements, and new or emerging fields such as systems toxicology, computational toxicology, risk assessment, population-based studies, etc.

The main focus of JECT is the study of toxicological processes, and the journal aims to provide a comprehensive view of the interactions between environmental contaminants, chemical exposure, and toxicological processes. The journal is committed to publishing research that contributes to the development of safe and effective products, processes, or services.

The journal publishes articles on a broad range of topics, including toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics, ecotoxicology, human health risk assessment, and regulatory toxicology. JECT is particularly interested in articles that review current methods for assessing the safety of substances, processes, or services in the face of uncertainty.
