Language Editing

Optional English-language editing to help authors communicate psychological research clearly and accurately.

Journal of Human PsychologyISSN 2644-1101Published by Open Access Pub

Service

Clearer language, with the science left to the authors

The language-editing service addresses grammar, sentence structure, clarity and consistency in English-language manuscripts. It is available to authors who want assistance with a draft, translation or language revision.

Grammar and syntax
Correct grammatical errors and improve sentence structure without changing the intended meaning.
Clarity and precision
Identify ambiguous wording and help authors express methods, findings or conceptual arguments more clearly.
Terminology and style
Improve consistency in psychological terminology, abbreviations and academic expression.

Scientific content remains the authors' responsibility. Language editing does not validate analyses, establish scope fit, verify results or replace peer review. Authors must check that proposed wording preserves their claims, limitations and conclusions.

Process

From inquiry to an author-checked manuscript

  1. Request a quotation. Email the editorial office with “JHP Language Editing Request,” the manuscript's word count, article type and the assistance required.
  2. Review the proposed terms. The office provides a cost and estimated completion time based on length and complexity. Confirm the scope of the service before proceeding.
  3. Review tracked changes. The edited file is returned with changes for the authors to assess. Resolve queries and check the meaning of every substantive sentence.
  4. Prepare the submission. Follow the journal's author instructions and use one approved submission route. An editing inquiry is not a manuscript submission.

Before sharing a file, remove participant-identifying information and material that you are not authorized to disclose. Explain any confidentiality requirements when arranging the service.

Fees

A separate, optional service

Language-editing fees are calculated from manuscript length and complexity and are quoted separately from the article processing charge. Request the applicable cost and estimated completion time before commissioning the work.

Authors may revise the language themselves or use an editor of their choice. Purchasing this service is not a requirement for submission, review or publication. If you have a membership arrangement, check its written terms for any service provision rather than assuming editing is included.

Independence

Editing does not influence the publication decision

The service is independent of editorial assessment. Using the service confers no advantage in peer review, acceptance or manuscript handling.

Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.

Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.

Author checks

Before submitting an edited manuscript

  • Confirm that psychological constructs, measures, statistical results and theoretical claims retain their intended meaning.
  • Check that uncertainty, limitations and the distinction between association and causation are expressed accurately.
  • Ensure that references, ethical statements, declarations and any required disclosures remain complete.
  • For double-blind review, prepare the anonymized reviewer file as described in the author instructions.
