JOS adheres to the highest standards of publishing ethics, ensuring fairness, transparency, and scientific rigor in all ophthalmic publications.
JOS employs rigorous single-blind peer review. Each manuscript is assessed by at least two independent ophthalmology specialists.
- Initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief
- Assignment to qualified peer reviewers
- Authors receive detailed feedback and an editorial decision
All clinical research must comply with ethical standards:
- IRB or Ethics Committee approval
- Declaration of Helsinki compliance
- Informed consent for patient photographs
- ARVO Statement for animal research
Authors must disclose financial relationships that could influence their work, including industry sponsorship for clinical trials or device studies.
JOS uses iThenticate to screen all submissions. Manuscripts must represent original work with proper attribution.
Post-publication errors receive an erratum. Misconduct cases may result in retraction per COPE guidelines.
