Biography
Dr. Laura Zaccaro is Researcher at Institute of Biostructures and Bioimaging of CNR in Naples- Italy
Her scientific interests concern 1) the development of new peptidic molecules able to specifically interact with molecular targets for diagnostic and therapeutic applications; 2) structure-activity relationship studies of bioactive systems to understand the molecular features governing the biological activity.
Over the last years she is mainly focused on:
• design, synthesis, structural and biological characterization of peptides/peptidomimetics selective for different members of integrin receptor family and on the functionalized nanostructures for integrin selective targeting to employ in the visualization and treatment of angiogenic vessels and cancer cells in tumor diseases.
• Structure-activity relationship studies of zinc finger proteins from prokaryotes and eukaryotes
• Synthesis and structural characterization of peptoids and glycopeptides as antimicrobials.
She is co-author of 50 peer-reviewed publications, as well as numerous proceedings, 2 patents, different lectures and invited key-notes.
