Journal of Alcohol (JA) is a premier open access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing our understanding of alcohol and its multifaceted impact on individuals, families, and communities. Our mission is to serve as a dynamic forum for the dissemination of original research, innovative reviews, and critical commentaries spanning the clinical, social, and public health dimensions of alcohol.

Scope & Focus Areas

Our scope is organized into several key focus areas:

  • Alcohol-Related Disorders: Innovative studies on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of alcohol use disorders and associated conditions.
  • Therapeutic Innovations: Evaluations of pharmacological, behavioral, and integrative interventions aimed at improving patient outcomes in alcohol dependence and recovery.
  • Psychosocial Impacts: Research examining the behavioral, psychological, and social determinants of alcohol consumption and addiction.
  • Family & Community Dynamics: Studies that explore how alcohol use influences family structures, social networks, and community health.
  • Epidemiology & Prevention: Population-based studies and public health interventions aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm and promoting community well-being.
  • Innovative Methodologies: Research employing advanced analytics, digital health technologies, and novel data collection methods to better understand alcohol-related phenomena.
  • Integration Across Disciplines: Contributions that bridge medicine, psychology, sociology, economics, and policy to develop comprehensive solutions for alcohol-related challenges.
