Biography
Omnia Abd El-Rahman is affiliated with the Department of Drug Radiation Research, where her work focuses on the intersection of optical diagnostics and radiation biology. Her research encompasses the development of methods for medical diagnosis based on optical fluence rate distribution at tissue surfaces, the estimation of optical parameters in biological tissues, and the application of optical techniques for differentiating biological tissues and treating retinal disorders. Her most-cited publication, "Ameliorative effect of kefir against γ-irradiation induced liver injury in male rats: impact on oxidative stress and inflammation" (2020), has received 30 citations and reflects her contributions to understanding radiation-induced tissue injury and protective interventions. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges biomedical optics, tissue characterization, and radiation research.
